Chapter 10

1 And Ahab256 had seventy7657 sons1121 in Samaria.8111 And Jehu3058 wrote3789 letters,5612 and sent7971 to Samaria,8111 unto413 the rulers8269 of Jezreel,3157 to the elders,2205 and to413 them that brought up539 Ahab's256 children, saying,559

2 Now6258 as soon as this2088 letter5612 cometh935 to413 you, seeing your master's113 sons1121 are with854 you, and there are with854 you chariots7393 and horses,5483 a fenced4013 city5892 also, and armor;5402

3 Look even out7200 the best2896 and meetest3477 of your master's sons,4480 1121 113 and set7760 him on5921 his father's1 throne,3678 and fight3898 for5921 your master's113 house.1004

4 But they were exceedingly3966 3966 afraid,3372 and said,559 Behold,2009 two8147 kings4428 stood5975 not3808 before6440 him: how349 then shall we587 stand?5975

5 And he that834 was over5921 the house,1004 and he that834 was over5921 the city,5892 the elders2205 also, and the bringers up539 of the children, sent7971 to413 Jehu,3058 saying,559 We587 are thy servants,5650 and will do6213 all3605 that834 thou shalt bid559 413 us; we will not3808 make any king:4427 376 do6213 thou that which is good2896 in thine eyes.5869

6 Then he wrote3789 a letter5612 the second time8145 to413 them, saying,559 If518 ye859 be mine, and if ye859 will hearken8085 unto my voice,6963 take3947 ye853 the heads7218 of the men376 your master's113 sons,1121 and come935 to413 me to Jezreel3157 by tomorrow4279 this time.6256 Now the king's4428 sons,1121 being seventy7657 persons,376 were with854 the great men1419 of the city,5892 which brought them up.1431 853

7 And it came to pass,1961 when the letter5612 came935 to413 them, that they took3947 853 the king's4428 sons,1121 and slew7819 seventy7657 persons,376 and put7760 853 their heads7218 in baskets,1731 and sent7971 413 him them to Jezreel.3157

8 And there came935 a messenger,4397 and told5046 him, saying,559 They have brought935 the heads7218 of the king's4428 sons.1121 And he said,559 Lay7760 ye them in two8147 heaps6652 at the entering in6607 of the gate8179 until5704 the morning.1242

9 And it came to pass1961 in the morning,1242 that he went out,3318 and stood,5975 and said559 to413 all3605 the people,5971 Ye859 be righteous:6662 behold,2009 I589 conspired7194 against5921 my master,113 and slew2026 him: but who4310 slew5221 853 all3605 these?428

10 Know3045 now645 that3588 there shall fall5307 unto the earth776 nothing3808 of the word4480 1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 the LORD3068 spoke1696 concerning5921 the house1004 of Ahab:256 for the LORD3068 hath done6213 853 that which834 he spoke1696 by3027 his servant5650 Elijah.452

11 So Jehu3058 slew5221 853 all3605 that remained7604 of the house1004 of Ahab256 in Jezreel,3157 and all3605 his great men,1419 and his kinsfolk,3045 and his priests,3548 until5704 he left7604 him none1115 remaining.8300

12 And he arose6965 and departed,935 and came1980 to Samaria.8111 And as he1931 was at the shearing house1044 in the way,1870

13 Jehu3058 met4672 with853 the brethren251 of Ahaziah274 king4428 of Judah,3063 and said,559 Who4310 are ye?859 And they answered,559 We587 are the brethren251 of Ahaziah;274 and we go down3381 to salute7965 the children1121 of the king4428 and the children1121 of the queen.1377

14 And he said,559 Take8610 them alive.2416 And they took8610 them alive,2416 and slew7819 them at413 the pit953 of the shearing house,1044 even two8147 and forty705 men;376 neither3808 left7604 he any376 of4480 them.

15 And when he was departed1980 thence,4480 8033 he lighted on4672 853 Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab7394 coming to meet7122 him: and he saluted1288 him, and said559 to413 him, Is3426 853 thine heart3824 right,3477 as834 my heart3824 is with5973 thy heart?3824 And Jehonadab3082 answered,559 It is.3426 If it be,3426 give5414 me853 thine hand.3027 And he gave5414 him his hand;3027 and he took him up5927 to413 him into413 the chariot.4818

16 And he said,559 Come1980 with854 me, and see7200 my zeal7068 for the LORD.3068 So they made him ride7392 in his chariot.7393

17 And when he came935 to Samaria,8111 he slew5221 853 all3605 that remained7604 unto Ahab256 in Samaria,8111 till5704 he had destroyed8045 him, according to the saying1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 he spoke1696 to413 Elijah.452

18 And Jehu3058 gathered6908 853 all3605 the people5971 together, and said559 unto413 them, Ahab256 served5647 853 Baal1168 a little;4592 but Jehu3058 shall serve5647 him much.7235

19 Now6258 therefore call7121 unto413 me all3605 the prophets5030 of Baal,1168 all3605 his servants,5647 and all3605 his priests;3548 let none376 408 be wanting:6485 for3588 I have a great1419 sacrifice2077 to do to Baal;1168 whosoever3605 834 shall be wanting,6485 he shall not3808 live.2421 But Jehu3058 did6213 it in subtlety,6122 to the intent4616 that he might destroy6 853 the worshipers5647 of Baal.1168

20 And Jehu3058 said,559 Proclaim6942 a solemn assembly6116 for Baal.1168 And they proclaimed7121 it.

21 And Jehu3058 sent7971 through all3605 Israel:3478 and all3605 the worshipers5647 of Baal1168 came,935 so that there was not3808 a man376 left7604 that834 came935 not.3808 And they came935 into the house1004 of Baal;1168 and the house1004 of Baal1168 was full4390 from one end6310 to another.6310

22 And he said559 unto him that834 was over5921 the vestry,4458 Bring forth3318 vestments3830 for all3605 the worshipers5647 of Baal.1168 And he brought them forth3318 vestments.4403

23 And Jehu3058 went,935 and Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab,7394 into the house1004 of Baal,1168 and said559 unto the worshipers5647 of Baal,1168 Search,2664 and look7200 that6435 there be3426 here6311 with5973 you none of the servants4480 5650 of the LORD,3068 but3588 518 the worshipers5647 of Baal1168 only.905

24 And when they went in935 to offer6213 sacrifices2077 and burnt offerings,5930 Jehu3058 appointed7760 fourscore8084 men376 without,2351 and said,559 If any376 of4480 the men376 whom834 I589 have brought935 into5921 your hands3027 escape,4422 he that letteth him go, his life5315 shall be for8478 the life5315 of him.

25 And it came to pass,1961 as soon as he had made an end3615 of offering6213 the burnt offering,5930 that Jehu3058 said559 to the guard7323 and to the captains,7991 Go in,935 and slay5221 them; let none376 408 come forth.3318 And they smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 and the guard7323 and the captains7991 cast them out,7993 and went1980 to5704 the city5892 of the house1004 of Baal.1168

26 And they brought forth3318 853 the images4676 out of the house1004 of Baal,1168 and burned8313 them.

27 And they broke down5422 853 the image4676 of Baal,1168 and broke down5422 853 the house1004 of Baal,1168 and made7760 it a draught house4163 unto5704 this day.3117

28 Thus Jehu3058 destroyed8045 853 Baal1168 out of Israel.4480 3478

29 Howbeit7535 from the sins2399 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat,5028 who834 made853 Israel3478 to sin,2398 Jehu3058 departed5493 not3808 from after4480 310 them, to wit, the golden2091 calves5695 that834 were in Bethel,1008 and that834 were in Dan.1835

30 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Jehu,3058 Because3282 834 thou hast done well2895 in executing6213 that which is right3477 in mine eyes,5869 and hast done6213 unto the house1004 of Ahab256 according to all3605 that834 was in mine heart,3824 thy children1121 of the fourth7243 generation shall sit3427 on5921 the throne3678 of Israel.3478

31 But Jehu3058 took no heed8104 3808 to walk1980 in the law8451 of the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 with all3605 his heart:3824 for he departed5493 not3808 from4480 5921 the sins2403 of Jeroboam,3379 which834 made853 Israel3478 to sin.2398

32 In those1992 days3117 the LORD3068 began2490 to cut Israel short:7096 3478 and Hazael2371 smote5221 them in all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel;3478

33 From4480 Jordan3383 eastward,4217 8121 853 all3605 the land776 of Gilead,1568 the Gadites,1425 and the Reubenites,7206 and the Manassites,4520 from Aroer,4480 6177 which834 is by5921 the river5158 Arnon,769 even Gilead1568 and Bashan.1316

34 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehu,3058 and all3605 that834 he did,6213 and all3605 his might,1369 are they1992 not3808 written3789 in5921 the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478

35 And Jehu3058 slept7901 with5973 his fathers:1 and they buried6912 him in Samaria.8111 And Jehoahaz3059 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

36 And the time3117 that834 Jehu3058 reigned4427 over5921 Israel3478 in Samaria8111 was twenty6242 and eight8083 years.8141

2 – Как только вы получите это письмо, то раз с вами сыновья вашего господина и у вас есть колесницы и кони, укреплённый город и оружие,

3 выберите лучшего и достойнейшего из сыновей вашего господина и посадите его на отцовский престол. А затем сражайтесь за дом господина своего.

4 Но они очень испугались и сказали: – Если ему не смогли противостоять два царя, то как можем мы?

5 И распорядитель дворца, правитель города, старейшины и воспитатели послали сказать Иеву: – Мы твои рабы и сделаем всё, что ты скажешь. Мы не будем никого ставить царём, делай всё, как считаешь нужным.

6 Тогда Иеву написал им второе письмо, говоря: – Если вы на моей стороне и послушны мне, возьмите головы сыновей своего господина и завтра к этому времени приходите ко мне в Изреель. А царские сыновья, семьдесят человек, были со знатнейшими людьми города, которым было доверено их воспитание.

7 Когда пришло письмо, эти люди взяли царских сыновей и закололи их всех. Они положили их головы в корзины и послали к Иеву в Изреель.

8 Когда посланец прибыл, он доложил Иеву: – Принесли головы царских сыновей. Иеву приказал: – Сложите их в две кучи у входа в городские ворота до утра.

9 На следующее утро Иеву вышел, встал перед народом и сказал: – Вы невиновны. Это я составил заговор против моего господина и убил его, но кто убил вот этих?

10 Итак, знайте, что ни одно слово, которое Вечный изрёк против дома Ахава, не осталось неисполненным. Вечный сделал то, что обещал через Своего раба Ильяса.

11 И перебил Иеву в Изрееле всех, кто ещё оставался от дома Ахава, вместе со всеми его приближёнными, близкими друзьями и священнослужителями, никого не оставив в живых.

12 После этого Иеву тронулся в путь к Самарии. В пастушеском Бет-Екеде

13 он встретил родственников Охозии, царя Иудеи, и спросил: – Вы кто?Они сказали: – Мы родственники Охозии и вышли приветствовать сыновей царя и сыновей царицы-матери.

14 – Взять их живыми! – приказал он. Их взяли живыми и закололи – сорок два человека, при колодце у Бет-Екеда. Иеву не оставил никого из них в живых.

15 Уйдя оттуда, он встретил Ионадава, сына Рехава, . который шёл ему навстречу. Иеву приветствовал его и сказал: – Так же ли верен ты мне, как я тебе? – Да, – ответил Ионадав. – А если да, то дай мне руку, – сказал Иеву. Он дал ему руку, и Иеву помог ему взойти на колесницу.

16 Иеву сказал: – Едем со мной. Ты увидишь мою ревность о Вечном, – и повёз его в своей колеснице.

17 Когда Иеву прибыл в Самарию, он перебил всех, кто оставался там от дома Ахава. Он истребил их по слову, которое Вечный сказал Ильясу.

18 После этого Иеву собрал весь народ и сказал им: – Ахав служил Баалу мало – я буду служить ему больше.

19 Итак, позовите ко мне всех пророков Баала, всех его служителей и всех его жрецов. Смотрите, чтобы пришли все до одного, потому что я хочу принести Баалу великую жертву. А кто не придёт, тому не жить. Но Иеву действовал с хитростью, желая истребить служителей Баала.

20 Иеву сказал: – Объявите праздничное собрание в честь Баала. И люди возвестили о нём.

21 Иеву послал весть по всему Исраилу, и все служители Баала явились, не осталось ни одного, кто бы не пришёл. Они собирались в храме Баала, пока он не наполнился до предела.

22 Иеву сказал хранителю одежд: – Принеси специальные одежды для всех служителей Баала, – и тот вынес для них одежды.

23 Затем Иеву и Ионадав, сын Рехава, вошли в храм Баала. Иеву сказал служителям Баала: – Поищите и посмотрите, чтобы с вами здесь не было служителей Вечного, а только служители Баала.

24 И они вошли, чтобы принести жертвы и всесожжения. А Иеву расставил снаружи восемьдесят человек, предупредив их: – Если кто из вас позволит кому-нибудь из тех людей, которых я отдаю в ваши руки, спастись, он расплатится за это своей жизнью.

25 Как только закончили приносить всесожжение, Иеву сказал стражам и военачальникам: – Войдите и перебейте их, и пусть никто не спасётся. И они перебили их мечами. Стражи и военачальники выбросили их тела наружу, а затем прошли во внутреннее святилище храма Баала.

26 Они вынесли из храма Баала священный камень и бросили его в огонь.

27 Они уничтожили священный камень Баала, разрушили храм Баала и сделали из него отхожее место, как это есть и до сегодняшнего дня.

28 Так Иеву искоренил в Исраиле почитание Баала.

29 Но он не отвернулся от грехов Иеровоама, сына Невата, к которым тот склонил Исраил, – от поклонения золотым тельцам Вефиля и Дана.

30 Вечный сказал Иеву: – Так как ты поступил хорошо, совершив то, что правильно в Моих глазах, и сделал с домом Ахава всё, как Я хотел, твои потомки до четвёртого поколения будут сидеть на престоле Исраила.

31 Но Иеву не следил за тем, чтобы исполнять Закон Вечного, Бога Исраила, от всего сердца. Он не отвернулся от грехов Иеровоама, к которым тот склонил Исраил.

32 В те дни Вечный начал уменьшать территорию Исраила. Хазаил разбил исраильтян по всей их земле

33 к востоку от Иордана, всю землю Галаад (уделы Гада, Рувима и Манассы), от города Ароера, что у реки Арнона, через Галаад до Башана.

34 Прочие события царствования Иеву, всё, что он сделал, и все его свершения записаны в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

35 Иеву упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Самарии. И царём вместо него стал его сын Иоахаз.

36 Иеву царствовал над Исраилом в Самарии двадцать восемь лет.

5 И распорядитель дворца, правитель города, старейшины и воспитатели послали сказать Иеву: – Мы твои рабы и сделаем всё, что ты скажешь. Мы не будем никого ставить царём, делай всё, как считаешь нужным.

10 Итак, знайте, что ни одно слово, которое Вечный изрёк против дома Ахава, не осталось неисполненным. Вечный сделал то, что обещал через Своего раба Ильяса.

11 So Jehu3058 slew5221 853 all3605 that remained7604 of the house1004 of Ahab256 in Jezreel,3157 and all3605 his great men,1419 and his kinsfolk,3045 and his priests,3548 until5704 he left7604 him none1115 remaining.8300

11 И перебил Иеву в Изрееле всех, кто ещё оставался от дома Ахава, вместе со всеми его приближёнными, близкими друзьями и священнослужителями, никого не оставив в живых.

14 – Взять их живыми! – приказал он. Их взяли живыми и закололи – сорок два человека, при колодце у Бет-Екеда. Иеву не оставил никого из них в живых.

19 Итак, позовите ко мне всех пророков Баала, всех его служителей и всех его жрецов. Смотрите, чтобы пришли все до одного, потому что я хочу принести Баалу великую жертву. А кто не придёт, тому не жить. Но Иеву действовал с хитростью, желая истребить служителей Баала.

20 And Jehu3058 said,559 Proclaim6942 a solemn assembly6116 for Baal.1168 And they proclaimed7121 it.

20 Иеву сказал: – Объявите праздничное собрание в честь Баала. И люди возвестили о нём.

21 And Jehu3058 sent7971 through all3605 Israel:3478 and all3605 the worshipers5647 of Baal1168 came,935 so that there was not3808 a man376 left7604 that834 came935 not.3808 And they came935 into the house1004 of Baal;1168 and the house1004 of Baal1168 was full4390 from one end6310 to another.6310

21 Иеву послал весть по всему Исраилу, и все служители Баала явились, не осталось ни одного, кто бы не пришёл. Они собирались в храме Баала, пока он не наполнился до предела.

22 And he said559 unto him that834 was over5921 the vestry,4458 Bring forth3318 vestments3830 for all3605 the worshipers5647 of Baal.1168 And he brought them forth3318 vestments.4403

22 Иеву сказал хранителю одежд: – Принеси специальные одежды для всех служителей Баала, – и тот вынес для них одежды.

23 And Jehu3058 went,935 and Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab,7394 into the house1004 of Baal,1168 and said559 unto the worshipers5647 of Baal,1168 Search,2664 and look7200 that6435 there be3426 here6311 with5973 you none of the servants4480 5650 of the LORD,3068 but3588 518 the worshipers5647 of Baal1168 only.905

23 Затем Иеву и Ионадав, сын Рехава, вошли в храм Баала. Иеву сказал служителям Баала: – Поищите и посмотрите, чтобы с вами здесь не было служителей Вечного, а только служители Баала.

24 And when they went in935 to offer6213 sacrifices2077 and burnt offerings,5930 Jehu3058 appointed7760 fourscore8084 men376 without,2351 and said,559 If any376 of4480 the men376 whom834 I589 have brought935 into5921 your hands3027 escape,4422 he that letteth him go, his life5315 shall be for8478 the life5315 of him.

24 И они вошли, чтобы принести жертвы и всесожжения. А Иеву расставил снаружи восемьдесят человек, предупредив их: – Если кто из вас позволит кому-нибудь из тех людей, которых я отдаю в ваши руки, спастись, он расплатится за это своей жизнью.

25 And it came to pass,1961 as soon as he had made an end3615 of offering6213 the burnt offering,5930 that Jehu3058 said559 to the guard7323 and to the captains,7991 Go in,935 and slay5221 them; let none376 408 come forth.3318 And they smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 and the guard7323 and the captains7991 cast them out,7993 and went1980 to5704 the city5892 of the house1004 of Baal.1168

25 Как только закончили приносить всесожжение, Иеву сказал стражам и военачальникам: – Войдите и перебейте их, и пусть никто не спасётся. И они перебили их мечами. Стражи и военачальники выбросили их тела наружу, а затем прошли во внутреннее святилище храма Баала.

26 And they brought forth3318 853 the images4676 out of the house1004 of Baal,1168 and burned8313 them.

27 And they broke down5422 853 the image4676 of Baal,1168 and broke down5422 853 the house1004 of Baal,1168 and made7760 it a draught house4163 unto5704 this day.3117

27 Они уничтожили священный камень Баала, разрушили храм Баала и сделали из него отхожее место, как это есть и до сегодняшнего дня.

28 Thus Jehu3058 destroyed8045 853 Baal1168 out of Israel.4480 3478

28 Так Иеву искоренил в Исраиле почитание Баала.

29 Howbeit7535 from the sins2399 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat,5028 who834 made853 Israel3478 to sin,2398 Jehu3058 departed5493 not3808 from after4480 310 them, to wit, the golden2091 calves5695 that834 were in Bethel,1008 and that834 were in Dan.1835

29 Но он не отвернулся от грехов Иеровоама, сына Невата, к которым тот склонил Исраил, – от поклонения золотым тельцам Вефиля и Дана.

30 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Jehu,3058 Because3282 834 thou hast done well2895 in executing6213 that which is right3477 in mine eyes,5869 and hast done6213 unto the house1004 of Ahab256 according to all3605 that834 was in mine heart,3824 thy children1121 of the fourth7243 generation shall sit3427 on5921 the throne3678 of Israel.3478

30 Вечный сказал Иеву: – Так как ты поступил хорошо, совершив то, что правильно в Моих глазах, и сделал с домом Ахава всё, как Я хотел, твои потомки до четвёртого поколения будут сидеть на престоле Исраила.

31 But Jehu3058 took no heed8104 3808 to walk1980 in the law8451 of the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 with all3605 his heart:3824 for he departed5493 not3808 from4480 5921 the sins2403 of Jeroboam,3379 which834 made853 Israel3478 to sin.2398

31 Но Иеву не следил за тем, чтобы исполнять Закон Вечного, Бога Исраила, от всего сердца. Он не отвернулся от грехов Иеровоама, к которым тот склонил Исраил.

32 In those1992 days3117 the LORD3068 began2490 to cut Israel short:7096 3478 and Hazael2371 smote5221 them in all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel;3478

32 В те дни Вечный начал уменьшать территорию Исраила. Хазаил разбил исраильтян по всей их земле

33 From4480 Jordan3383 eastward,4217 8121 853 all3605 the land776 of Gilead,1568 the Gadites,1425 and the Reubenites,7206 and the Manassites,4520 from Aroer,4480 6177 which834 is by5921 the river5158 Arnon,769 even Gilead1568 and Bashan.1316

33 к востоку от Иордана, всю землю Галаад (уделы Гада, Рувима и Манассы), от города Ароера, что у реки Арнона, через Галаад до Башана.

34 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehu,3058 and all3605 that834 he did,6213 and all3605 his might,1369 are they1992 not3808 written3789 in5921 the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478

35 And Jehu3058 slept7901 with5973 his fathers:1 and they buried6912 him in Samaria.8111 And Jehoahaz3059 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

35 Иеву упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Самарии. И царём вместо него стал его сын Иоахаз.

36 And the time3117 that834 Jehu3058 reigned4427 over5921 Israel3478 in Samaria8111 was twenty6242 and eight8083 years.8141

36 Иеву царствовал над Исраилом в Самарии двадцать восемь лет.
